3TR Researchers Participate in ECCO Congress 2026

The 3TR team was represented at this year’s Congress of the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation (ECCO) in Stockholm, Sweden. Over four days, from 18-21 February 2026, experts in the field of Inflammatory Bowel Disease came together to discuss current advancements and future directions in IBD research and care.

Several 3TR partners contributed to different parts of the congress, including the scientific and educational programme, industry sessions, digital oral presentations, and poster sessions. The team from Christian-Albrechts-University Kiel (CAU) had a particularly strong presence, with contributions from Stefan Schreiber, Florian Tran, Joana Bernardes, Lina Welz, Matthieu Bourgery and several other colleagues. Additional presentations were delivered by partners from Örebro University (Jonas Halfvarson) as well as KU Leuven (Bram Verstockt).

The presented work covered both translational and clinical research, with a focus on molecular characterisation of disease, biomarker development, and the evaluation of treatment strategies in real-world settings. Together, these contributions support ongoing efforts to better understand disease mechanisms and improve patient management in IBD. Beyond the formal programme, the congress provided valuable opportunities to exchange and maintain dialogue within the IBD community, as well as with colleagues from academia, clinical practice, and other European research initiatives active in related fields.
